Abstract

Mucormycosis is a rare but potentially lethal fungal infection in the renal allograft recipient. Renal allograft mucormycosis is extremely rare. To date, only five cases have been reported in the literature. We report a case of renal allograft mucormycosis, where this complication developed 18 months after transplantation following treatment for acute rejection with high dose steroids and antithymocyte globulin.
