Abstract

Drug induced keratopathy is a corneal disease caused by the application of systemic and topical drugs. Toxic corneal diseases are mainly iatrogenic in nature, especially caused by abuse of topical drugs on the ocular surface. Clinical manifestations of drug induced keratopathy are usually nonspecific, such as repeated diffuse punctate epithelial disease, delayed recovery of inflammation or ulceration of corneal stroma accompanied with an inflammatory reaction of the anterior chamber. Drug induced keratopathy is always accompanied by primary corneal diseases, which may impede the diagnosis and management. It is important to use drugs properly to avoid drug induced keratopathy.
