Abstract
Relapsing polychondritis is a rare autoimmune-driven cause of cartilaginous inflammation with multi-systemic impact and disease. We present an acute presentation of optic neuropathy on an eight-month background of wandering oligoarthritis, auricular chondritis and recurrent episcleritis. Prompt courses of oral steroids and ongoing immunosuppression with cyclophosphamide, methotrexate and anti-TNF treatment have ensured a swift recovery in ocular and systemic presenting signs and symptoms. This case highlights the clinical workup, multidisciplinary nature and patient factors that led to a prompt positive recovery.
