Angiogenesis Pathway of the AMN3 Mouse Mammary Adenocarcinoma Cell Line.

Abstract

Objective: Angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, is a critical process that supports tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. In breast cancer, tumor cells upregulate angiogenic factors to stimulate vascularization and ensure a continuous supply of oxygen and nutrients. The current AMN3 cell line, an important cancer cell model that is well established and used in cancer drug discovery, was used to investigate the role of specific angiogenic pathways in disease progression.

Methods: We conducted microarray protein expression analysis of the AMN3 mouse mammary adenocarcinoma cell line at 6 and 18 hours posttreatment.

Results: Our results revealed significant upregulation of several key angiogenic factors, including fibroblast growth factor (FGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A).

Conclusions: These findings suggest that these factors contribute to creating a tumor microenvironment conducive to angiogenesis, thereby promoting tumor growth and dissemination. Targeting these factors may represent a promising therapeutic strategy for inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and controlling breast cancer progression.
