Abstract
A case of a young girl with an abnormally shaped sella turcica is reported. A routine lateral cephalograph of the skull was taken for orthodontic purposes. The cephalograph revealed that the sella turcica was abnormally shaped. Magnetic resonance imaging of the patient confirmed the presence of a pituitary adenoma in the sellar region. This article reports and discusses the incidental finding of a pituitary adenoma and also emphasizes the orthodontist's important role in the initial diagnosis of such cases.
