Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the role of magnetic resonance urography (MRU) in the diagnosis of upper urinary tract obstruction.

Methods: MRU was performed for 35 patients suspicious of upper urinary tract obstruction.

Results: MRU provided high resolution images of the urinary tract. The site of upper urinary tract obstruction and hydronephrosis could be clearly shown.

Conclusions: MRU, a nontraumatic technique, needs no iodinated contrast medium. It might be widely adopted in the diagnosis of upper urinary diseases.
