Abstract

Gary Litman, Ph.D., is Director of the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Children's Research Institute, St. Petersburg, Florida, and Vice Chairman for Basic Sciences, Department of Pediatrics. In addition, he is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of South Florida, a Distinguished University Professor and Hines Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the university's College of Medicine, Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics at All Children's Hospital, and Adjunct Scientist in the Biomedical Program at Mote Marine Laboratory. Dr. Litman received a Bachelor's degree and a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Minnesota. He is a former Chairman of the NIH Zebrafish Review Group 1 Study Section and serves on the editorial boards of Developmental Immunology, Cancer Control: Journal of the Moffitt Cancer Center, and Immunogenetics.
